Introducing Our "My Family & Me" Program

Recovery doesn't just change one life, it has the power to restore an entire family.

Not every family looks the same, and that's exactly the point.

For some, it's a mom and her children. For others, it's a dad woking to rebuild the relationship with his son or daughter. Some families have both parents. Others have grandparents or legal guardians who have stepped in along the way. Family isn't defined by a single picture—it's defined by love, commitment, and the willingness to keep showing up.

At Thrive Transitional Housing, we believe recovery should lead to more than sobriety. It should lead to healing relationships, rebuilding trust, and creating a place to finally call home.

That's why we created the My Family & Me Program.

This program is designed for parents and families who have successfully completed a recovery or transitional living program and are ready for the next step toward independent living while continuing to receive recovery support.

Graduates of Thrive Transitional Housing receive first priority for placement. However, we also welcome qualified referrals from other reputable recovery housing and treatment programs. Applicants must demonstrate stability in their recovery, have successfully completed their previous program, maintain employment or another reliable source of income, and be committed to continuing their recovery journey. Our mission isn't simply to serve those who come through Thrive, it's to help as many families as possible build a stable home while protecting the recovery they've worked so hard to achieve.

Instead of leaving a recovery or transitional living program and facing the uncertainty of starting over alone, qualified participants have the opportunity to move into a home with their children while continuing to receive the recovery support, accountability, and guidance that helped them get there.

Because recovery doesn't end when you move out. In many ways, that's when the real journey begins.

For parents working to reunify with their children, this program provides something many have dreamed about for years: the chance to tuck their child into bed under the same roof, eat dinner together at their own kitchen table, celebrate birthdays at home, help with homework, read bedtime stories, and create new memories where healing can continue.

We know that reunification doesn't happen overnight. It takes courage, consistency, and a commitment to recovery. Our goal is to provide an environment where parents can continue proving to themselves, their children, and their community that lasting change is possible. Because when a parent succeeds in recovery, an entire family has the opportunity to heal.

The heart behind this program is deeply personal to one of Thrive Transitional Housing's founders. Having experienced homelessness as a child, Melissa Barron understands what it feels like when home is uncertain and stability is something you long for. Those experiences shaped her belief that every child deserves a safe place to call home, and every parent who has worked tirelessly to overcome addiction deserves the opportunity to rebuild their family. What was once a painful chapter has become the driving force behind creating opportunities for other families to experience hope, healing, and a fresh start.

The My Family & Me Program is more than a roof over a family's head. It is a bridge between recovery and independence. It is an opportunity for parents to continue building the life they've worked so hard to achieve without losing the support system that helped them get there.

It's about second chances.

It's about breaking generational cycles.

It's about restoring families.

It's about giving children the opportunity to grow up in a safe, stable home while watching their parent thrive in recovery.

Because recovery isn't just about staying sober.

It's about rebuilding trust.

It's about creating memories.

It's about giving your children the childhood they deserve.

It's about getting your family back.

Because every child deserves a place to call home, and every parent deserves the chance to become the parent they were always meant to be.

Did you know?

Stable housing is associated with improved child safety, stronger family reunification, better mental health, and improved educational continuity for children.

How the Program Works

Finding a home after recovery can be one of the biggest obstacles to rebuilding your life. Many families are turned away because of past credit issues, rental history, evictions, or strict income requirements even after doing the hard work to achieve recovery.

The My Family & Me Program was created to remove those barriers.

Qualified participants are provided the opportunity to move into a affordable family home without the traditional rental hurdles, such as credit checks, meeting three-times-the-rent income requirements, or navigating a lengthy approval process.

Instead, we focus on what matters most: your commitment to recovery, your stability, and your readiness to build a healthy future for your family.
